Jasmin is my very first dog. She is calm, steady and good behavior Akita female. She is very typical Akita who spends time alone and and is very aware of her territory.

Jasmin has a long coat and that’s why we don’t take part to official shows. On the other hand because of her exceptionally touching teddy bear look, she charms everybody and at unofficial match shows she is often awarded.

Jasmin came because I wanted a pet to myself. I took her to everywhere… We were at obedience trainings, at agility fields, searching people from wreck, etc.

Jasmin puts smile to everyone’s faces. She is very cute and she really knows how to use that to get what she wants. Jasmin knows when someone is looking at her, then she gives that look, and people always stops to say hello to her.

Jasmin likes to be outside. She likes to see what happens outside and she sure remembers to tell if someone is coming to her territory. She also has a great nose and she has haunted down few rabbits!

Jasmin is very dear, but she has a little bit difficult character when she wants what she wants. If she doesn’t want to go outside for a walk, she just lays down and you have to pull her out… She sure doesn’t do anything if there is nothing good about it. A big personality, I would say!

Jasmin’s achievements

Although Jasmin is no show dog, she charms with her wonderful looks. I have took Jasmin to many match shows and she have been BIS1 at least 2 times, she has also been several times BIS2...5.

Jasmin was very good obedience dog. Of course she wasn’t always ’at the mood’ but when she wanted to do, she was really good and got me wondering how amazing it was to have a hobby with her.

One time she did everything perfectly and that time we won our club’s obedience competition! Because of her calm temperament, she didn’t mind all the distractions around, while others was distracted. Our bravura was always laying down.

In Finland’s history, there are only few Akitas with a result from official obedience competition. Jasmin is one of these!

Jasmin’s health

Jasmin has always been a healthy dog. When she was 4 years old she was sterilized because of bad infection (pyometra). At older age she got these little spots in her eyes and those irritated her eyes. Those spots were removed. The age has also came with hot spot to Jasmin’s temples.

Jasmin has SA infected sire and sister.
