Sulo is my co-owned Japan import male who lives in a family and with Akitas Siiri, Sirkku and Nasu. Sulo has become a very important part of my breedings and he is behind almost every line of mine.

Sulo was imported when he was 4 months old. Because of the idiots at the Finnish toll, Sulo was send back to Japan at the next day! We were terrified how a puppy survives a long flight back. But Sulo is such a great boy that he didn’t mind. And when he came back to Finland, again at a month later, he was still a happy boy with no trauma in his life. I think we got bigger traumas than he did…

Sulo is such a gentleman. He doesn’t mind other dogs, but if his territory is threatened he will defend it. Sulo charms females and their owners right away. Sulo knows that if he is too pushy, they will be scared of him. So Sulo acts calmly and in that is his magic.

Sulo’s achievements

Sulo is done quite well at show rings. At Japan Kennel Club’s Speciality at 2006 he was BOB-puppy, He was BOB-puppy also at European Winner Show. At older age he was BOB at Nordic Winner Show 2010. Sulo’s start at shows wasn’t too easy, because some judges at Finland didn’t understood a brindle color…

Sulo has proven to be a great producer. He has D hips, but most of his offspring has healthy hips. Sulo has 17 offspring and no SA or UDS (VKH). Sulo isn’t a big male, but all of his offspring are at least average sized. He also has big sons, over 70 cm high.

Sulo’s health

Sulos eyes are checked twice to be healthy. Hips D/D, but he hasn’t got any problems of them yet.

When Sulo was imported he were malnourished. Other than that, Sulo has always been a healthy boy.

Sulo’s sire is the great and stunning brindle male from Japan, Unshou. I haven’t heard any SA or UDS cases at Sulo’s bloodline.
